The problem it solves

Your senators and representative cast hundreds of votes a year in your name. Finding out how yours voted on something you care about usually means digging through congressional records written for insiders. Most people never do, so the record that's supposed to be public stays effectively out of reach.

What you can do with it

Ask a question the way you'd actually say it, like “how did my reps vote on student debt?” Civvie uses your ZIP code (or your full address, only if your ZIP spans more than one district) to find the two senators and one House representative who serve you, then shows how each one acted on that issue: what they voted for, what was actually in the bill, and what it cost.

What makes it different

• Evidence only

  Every claim links back to a primary source. If Civvie can't cite it, it doesn't say it. No spin, no characterization the record doesn't support.

• The tradeoff layer

  Civvie never reduces a vote to a yes or no without showing what was inside the bill, so you see what your rep was actually weighing, not just which button they pressed.

• Neutral by design

  No red or blue, no party scorekeeping, no telling you what to think. The visual tone is closer to a public library than cable news.

What Civvie is not

It isn't a place to contact officials or take action, it isn't advice on how to vote, and it isn't on anyone's side. Civvie hands you the record and the context behind it. What you do with that is yours, and it happens at the ballot box, not in the app.
