Sponsored by Ted Cruz (R)

A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of Energy relating to "Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Furnaces".

Would have blocked a 2023 Energy Department rule that set efficiency standards for certain gas furnaces.

Tradeoff

Would have canceled new efficiency standards for non-weatherized and mobile home gas furnaces under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA). Would have kept older, less efficient furnaces allowed for sale.
