Stop Secret Spending Act of 2025
Requires federal agencies to report spending on other transaction agreements to USAspending.gov.
Tradeoff
Makes federal spending on special procurement contracts (other transaction agreements) visible to the public on USAspending.gov. No direct spending or revenue impact; primarily a transparency requirement on existing spending.
What's in it
Less than $500,000 in federal administrative costs over 2026-2030.
The $500,000 is just the federal cost to administer new reporting requirements — the policy's real impact is requiring Treasury, OMB, and federal agencies to collect and publish more complete spending data with no significant burden on agency operations.
Passed the Senate by on June 10, 2026 — now in the House.
