Improving Veteran Access to Care Act
Requires the VA to create a plan improving how veterans schedule health care appointments.
Tradeoff
The bill requires the VA to develop better appointment-scheduling tools and processes for veterans. It does not authorize or appropriate funding for this work.
What's in it
Costs less than $500,000 over 2026-2030 for planning and reporting requirements.
The $500,000 is just the federal cost to administer the planning and reporting requirements — the bill's real impact is on the VA's operations to implement online scheduling, telephonic support, and improved tools for veterans.
Passed the Senate by on December 18, 2025 — sitting in the House.
