American Music Tourism Act of 2024
Would have told the Commerce Department to promote US music and sports tourism to visitors at home and abroad.
Tradeoff
Would have had the Commerce Department promote music festivals, concerts, and sports events to travelers. Would have required a report to Congress within one year, then every two years.
What's in it
CBO estimates no effect on direct spending or revenues; the bill's effects were not estimated.
The bill mainly requires the Commerce Department to promote music tourism and report to Congress, so any federal cost would come from that administrative work, which CBO did not put a dollar figure on.
The Senate passed this by on December 5, 2024. The House never voted on it before the Congress ended, so the bill expired.
