Sponsored by Brian Schatz (D)
A bill to amend the Native American Tourism and Improving Visitor Experience Act to authorize grants to Indian tribes, tribal organizations, and Native Hawaiian organizations, and for other purposes.
Would have created grants for tribal and Native Hawaiian tourism projects, authorized at $35 million through 2027.
Tradeoff
Would have let federal agencies fund Native tourism projects through 2027. Authorized $35 million, but that is permission to spend, not money already set aside.
