Preventing Child Trafficking Act of 2024
Would have required DOJ to carry out GAO recommendations on child trafficking awareness and survivor support.
Tradeoff
Would have required DOJ's victims office to put GAO child-trafficking recommendations into action within 180 days. Would have also required a report to Congress on those steps within 60 days after that.
What's in it
The Senate passed this by on April 20, 2024. The bill then went to the House, and the Congress ended before it acted, so the bill expired.
