Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act of 2025
Extends federal payments to counties with forest and public land through 2026, plus back pay for 2024–2025.
Tradeoff
Continues federal funding for schools, roads, and services in rural counties near federal forests and public lands. Requires Treasury to issue lapsed payments within 45 days of enactment.
