Strengthening the Commercial Driver’s License Information System Act
Lets the Transportation Department authorize a private operator to run and charge fees for the national commercial driver's license database.
Tradeoff
Lets an authorized operator charge reasonable fees for the commercial driver's license database, replacing the suspended state fees. Fee money must go only to running and improving the system, with no fee charged to DOT.
