Good Samaritan Remediation of Abandoned Hardrock Mines Act of 2024

Creates a 7-year pilot letting up to 15 groups clean up abandoned hardrock mines without normal legal liability.

Tradeoff

Shields approved cleanup groups from certain pollution liability for old mine waste. Those groups must still meet low-risk, financial, and monitoring rules.
