Securing Semiconductor Supply Chains Act of 2023
Would have required a Commerce Department program to report to Congress on boosting chip-making investment.
Tradeoff
Would have required SelectUSA, a Commerce Department investment program, to gather state input and report to Congress on chip supply. Would have added no new money, so SelectUSA would have used funds it already has.
