Fort Belknap Indian Community Water Rights Settlement Act of 2024
Would have settled the Fort Belknap tribe's water rights claims and funded its irrigation and water systems.
Tradeoff
Would have ended the tribe's water claims against Montana and the United States in exchange for federal benefits. Would have set aside about $1.3 billion in federal money, much of it for future spending.
