Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act
Orders the Commerce Department to study US manufacturing gaps in critical infrastructure products.
Tradeoff
Requires a study on whether the US can make critical-infrastructure goods it currently imports. No direct spending or policy changes.
What's in it
Costs $1 million over 2025-2030 for federal analysis and reporting.
The $1 million is just the federal cost to conduct the analysis and reporting—the policy does not appropriate funds for manufacturing or subsidies, only for the Department of Commerce to study and report on feasibility.
