Wyoming Public Lands Initiative Act of 2023
Would have designated new wilderness, a national conservation area, and special management areas in Wyoming.
Tradeoff
Would have locked about 60,000 acres of Wyoming land away from mining, oil and gas leasing, and new roads. Oil and gas leases would still have been allowed under strict no-surface-disturbance rules.
