Sloan Canyon Conservation and Lateral Pipeline Act
Expands Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area and grants pipeline rights-of-way to Southern Nevada Water Authority.
Tradeoff
Adds about 9,290 acres to the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area in Nevada. Allows the Southern Nevada Water Authority to build a water pipeline through the expanded area and other BLM land without paying fees.
What's in it
Negligible budgetary effect over the 2025-2035 period; approximately $90,000 in offsetting receipts collected from the Southern Nevada Water Authority.
The federal cost is just $90,000 for administering an endangered species analysis; the policy's real impact is that it grants the water authority free pipeline rights-of-way and expands a conservation area on public land.
