Taiwan Non-Discrimination Act of 2025
Requires the US to advocate for Taiwan's membership in the International Monetary Fund.
Tradeoff
Directs the US Treasury to push Taiwan's admission to the IMF and participation in IMF programs. The bill sunsets after 10 years or once Taiwan is admitted, whichever comes first.
What's in it
Costs less than $500,000 over 2025-2030.
The $500,000 is just the federal cost to administer the policy—the real effect is a diplomatic commitment by the Treasury Department to advocate for Taiwan's IMF membership or participation, with no direct federal spending on Taiwan itself.
