Amtrak Executive Bonus Disclosure Act
Would have required Amtrak to publicly disclose executive pay and bonus criteria each year.
Tradeoff
Would have required Amtrak to post executive base pay and bonuses online each year. It also would have required the rules used to set those bonuses.
What's in it
Adds $0 to the deficit over 2024-2034 (no federal budget effect).
The $0 federal cost means the government spends nothing new; the real impact is a small reporting burden on Amtrak, which must now disclose executive base pay and bonuses in its annual report and on its website.
The House passed this by on December 9, 2024. The Senate never voted on it before the Congress ended, so the bill expired.
