Stop Unaffordable Dishwasher Standards Act
Would have limited the Energy Department's power to set and enforce dishwasher energy efficiency standards.
Tradeoff
Would have required the Energy Department to find that dishwasher rules are feasible, cost-justified, and save significant energy. Rules that raise consumer costs would have been blocked.
What's in it
The House passed it 214-192 on July 9, 2024, and the Senate never voted before the Congress ended.
