Geothermal Cost-Recovery Authority Act of 2024

Would have let Interior charge geothermal lease holders for federal permit and monitoring costs through 2031.

Tradeoff

Would have made geothermal leaseholders repay federal processing and monitoring costs through 2031. Interior could lower the fee for economic hardship or to encourage geothermal use.
