Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act
Would reduce premiums 11 percent by changing health plan rules and pharmacy contract oversight.
Tradeoff
Would lower insurance premiums for people with coverage while an estimated 100,000 annually lose insurance access through 2035. Saves federal deficit about $35.6 billion over ten years.
What's in it
Reduces deficit by $35.6 billion over 2026-2035.
The $35.6 billion deficit reduction reflects both cost savings from regulatory changes to health plans and contracts, and federal spending for reductions; the trade-off is that fewer people will have insurance coverage while those who keep it pay lower premiums.
