American Music Tourism Act of 2025
Directs the Commerce Department to promote tourism to U.S. music festivals, venues, and related attractions.
Tradeoff
Expands the National Travel and Tourism Office's duties to market music and sports tourism. No funding or spending changes specified in the bill.
What's in it
Costs less than $500,000 over 10 years for federal administration and reporting.
The $500,000 or less is just the federal cost to staff and operate a music tourism promotion program within Commerce — the policy's real effect is on the private travel, hospitality, and music industries' ability to attract tourists through federal marketing support.
Passed the House by on April 28, 2025 — sitting in the Senate.
