To amend title 38, United States Code, to ensure that the Secretary of Veterans Affairs repays members of the Armed Forces for certain contributions made by such members towards Post-9/11 Educational Assistance, and for other purposes.
Would have let the VA repay Montgomery GI Bill buy-back money to veterans who switched to Post-9/11 benefits, even after housing stipends end.
Tradeoff
Would have removed the requirement that repayments come with the last housing stipend, so more veterans could get their money back. Would also have extended higher VA home loan fee rates through November 28, 2031.
