Fire Weather Development Act of 2023

Would have created a NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) wildfire weather program and advisory committees.

Tradeoff

Would have authorized $5 million for 2025 drone work and $4 million a year for a fire weather testbed through 2028. Would have set up a federal committee to coordinate wildfire forecasting across agencies.
