Sponsored by Brian Jack (R)
Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act of 2026
Establishes new private boxing organizations with stricter safety rules and minimum pay for fighters.
Tradeoff
Creates an alternative regulatory pathway for professional boxing with enhanced medical standards and anti-doping oversight. Requires boxers 40 and older to undergo extra physical exams, mandates at least two ambulances ringside, and sets a $200-per-round minimum pay.
What's in it
Less than $500,000 in net federal cost over 2026-2036, primarily from minor criminal penalties and FTC administrative fees.
The $500,000 or less is just the federal cost to enforce the rule through FTC administration and criminal prosecution — the policy's real impact falls on unified boxing organizations, which must comply with medical care, anti-doping, safety standards, and compensation requirements for boxers.
