No New Burma Funds Act
Directs the US to push the World Bank to keep pausing loans to Burma.
Tradeoff
Requires the US to advocate for continuing a World Bank lending freeze to Burma's military government. The Treasury Secretary can override this if pausing loans harms US national interest.
What's in it
Costs less than $500,000 over the 2026-2030 period.
The $500,000 is the estimated federal cost to conduct diplomatic advocacy at the World Bank — the policy's real impact falls on Burma through reduced access to multilateral development financing.
