Improving Access to Small Business Information Act
Exempts the SEC's small-business advocate from most federal paperwork-reduction rules.
Tradeoff
Lets the SEC's Office of the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation skip federal review and approval for surveys and information-gathering. Still requires the office to tell people why it's collecting their information.
What's in it
No measurable net effect on the federal deficit over 2025-2035.
This exempts the SEC office from federal paperwork approval requirements, reducing SEC administrative overhead by an insignificant amount—the federal cost is essentially zero because the SEC's fee authority means any savings flow back to users of SEC services rather than the general treasury.
