Sponsored by J. French Hill (R)
To require the Secretary of Agriculture to convey a parcel of property of the Forest Service to Perry County, Arkansas, and for other purposes.
Transfers about one acre of Forest Service land in Arkansas to Perry County for public use.
Tradeoff
Gives Perry County Forest Service property at no cost. County must pay for survey, environmental review, and historic preservation analysis, and property reverts to the US if not used for education or youth development.
What's in it
No federal cost or savings; estimated impact on deficit is zero.
This bill transfers federal property to a local government at no cost to the federal budget—the county bears all conveyance costs, so the federal government's only expense is administrative processing, which CBO found to be negligible.
The House passed this 388-0 on December 15, 2025. The bill is now in the Senate.
