Settlement Agreement Information Database Act of 2023

Would have required federal agencies to post their legal settlement agreements in a public database.

Tradeoff

Would have required agencies to publish settlement terms, including payments and penalties. Agencies could keep a deal confidential only if they publicly explained why.
