Sponsored by Val T. Hoyle (D)
To amend the Siletz Reservation Act to address the hunting, fishing, trapping, and animal gathering rights of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, and for other purposes.
Lets the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians and Oregon renegotiate the tribe's hunting and fishing rights.
Tradeoff
Replaces the 1980 court order that set the tribe's hunting and fishing rights with a process for new agreements. Limits any new deal so it cannot expand Siletz fishing in the Columbia and Willamette Rivers.
