Sponsored by Patrick T. McHenry (R)
To amend the Federal securities laws to specify the periods for which financial statements are required to be provided by an emerging growth company, and for other purposes.
Would have excused emerging growth companies from submitting financial statements for periods before their first audited period at IPO.
Tradeoff
Would have dropped requirements for emerging growth companies to report older acquired-company financials. Would have reduced paperwork for newly public firms that acquired other businesses.
