Stop Secret Spending Act of 2025
Requires federal agencies to report other transaction agreement spending on USAspending.gov.
Tradeoff
Makes federal spending on contract alternatives (other transaction agreements) visible to the public through a federal website. Requires Treasury to compile and annually report unreported spending and the reasons why.
What's in it
Costs less than $500,000 over 2026-2031 in federal administrative expenses.
The less-than-$500K figure is just the federal cost to implement new data reporting requirements and standards — the bill's real impact is a transparency mandate requiring federal agencies to publish more complete spending information online.
Passed the House by on July 20, 2026. Passed the Senate by on August 7, 2026. Signed into law on September 11, 2026.
