Secure the Border Act of 2023
Would require building 900 miles of border wall, tighten rules, and mandate employer verification of work eligibility.
Tradeoff
Would have spent billions on border infrastructure, staffing, and technology. Also would have restricted eligibility and imposed new criminal penalties for visa overstays.
