SAT Streamlining Act
Would have set deadlines for Federal Communications Commission (FCC) decisions on satellite licenses.
Tradeoff
Would have required the FCC to decide satellite license applications faster, with extensions for national security reviews. Would have also required satellite operators to share radio spectrum in good faith with other users.
What's in it
The House voted on passage on July 25, 2023, and the bill failed 250-163. The Senate never voted on it before the Congress ended, so the bill expired.
