La Paz County Solar Energy and Job Creation Act
Sells about 3,400 acres of federal land in Arizona to La Paz County for solar development.
Tradeoff
La Paz County gains land for solar projects and pays fair market value. The land is withdrawn from mining and mineral leasing, blocking new extraction claims on it.
What's in it
Adds $13 million to the deficit over 10 years (2026-2035).
The $13 million represents the net federal cost after accounting for the county's purchase payment and proceeds that will be spent from the Federal Land Disposal Account, primarily reflecting forgone federal revenue and administrative expenses related to the land transfer.
Passed the House by on July 21, 2025. Passed the Senate by on December 16, 2025, and was signed into law on February 11, 2026.
