Combating the Lies of Authoritarians in School Systems Act
Bars schools from accepting Chinese government funds or contracts.
Tradeoff
Schools lose federal education funding if they accept money or contracts from China, the Chinese Communist Party, or their agents. Schools must disclose all foreign funding over $10,000 to the Department of Education within 30 days.
What's in it
Less than $500,000 in federal implementation costs over 2025-2030.
The $500,000 is the federal cost to administer the new disclosure requirement — the policy's real burden falls on public schools, which must identify and report foreign funding and contracts above $10,000.
The House passed this 242-176 on December 3, 2025. The bill is now in the Senate.
