Sponsored by Harriet M. Hageman (R)
To provide for a memorandum of understanding to address the impacts of a certain record of decision on the Upper Colorado River Basin Fund.
Requires the Interior and Energy departments to study how a 2024 Glen Canyon Dam decision affects the Upper Colorado River Basin Fund.
Tradeoff
The bill mandates a study with no stated funding or implementation deadline beyond 'as soon as practicable.' It does not authorize money or change existing dam operations.
What's in it
No significant federal cost over 2025-2030; spending subject to would be negligible.
The $0 federal cost score means this bill requires only administrative work to coordinate between two federal agencies—the real-world impacts fall on water operations at Glen Canyon Dam and depend entirely on what the memorandum of understanding eventually decides.
